What is On-Grid Solar?

On-Grid Solar (also called grid-tied solar) is a solar power system that is connected directly to the utility grid. It allows homes or businesses to use solar energy during the day while still relying on the grid when solar power is not sufficient.

What is Hybrid Solar?

Hybrid Solar is a solar power system that combines solar panels, the utility grid, and battery storage into one smart energy solution. It allows you to use solar energy during the day, store excess power in batteries, and still rely on the grid when needed.

What is Off-Grid Solar?

Off-Grid Solar is a solar power system that operates independently from the utility grid. It generates, stores, and supplies electricity using solar panels, batteries, and an inverter, making it ideal for locations without access to grid power.

150kW Grid-Tie Solar Installation at Tomas Del Rosario College

SUNGROW ENERGY successfully completed the installation of a 150kW Grid-Tie Solar Power System at Tomas Del Rosario College in Balanga City, Bataan. This project was designed to significantly reduce the institution’s electricity expenses while promoting the use of clean and sustainable energy within the campus.

The grid-tie system allows the college to utilize solar power during daytime operations, offsetting a large portion of its energy consumption from the utility grid. By harnessing solar energy at peak hours, the system efficiently supports classrooms, offices, lighting, and other campus facilities—without the need for battery storage—ensuring cost-effective and low-maintenance operation.

With this installation, the college is able to achieve an estimated monthly savings of approximately ₱250,000, translating to around ₱2,430,000 in annual electricity cost savings. These substantial savings can be redirected toward academic development, facility improvements, and other institutional priorities.

Beyond financial benefits, the 150kW grid-tie solar system contributes to a reduced carbon footprint, reinforcing the school’s commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainability. This project stands as a strong example of how educational institutions can benefit from renewable energy while leading by example in adopting eco-friendly solutions.
